FAQ

  • How Does Acupuncture Work?

Acupuncture is the process of inserting sterilized, filiform (tiny and not hollow), needles into the body to stimulate various effects. The strength of this treatment style lies in connecting all of your symptoms together to diagnose a pattern. This analyzes how your different body systems are influencing each other. Using acupuncture needles, your acupuncturist stimulates different responses to retrain your body systems to work in better harmony.

  • What is a Board-Certified Herbalist?

A Board-Certified herbalist has completed 4-5 years of training as well as thousands of hours working with patients. They have earned a Master’s or Doctoral degree and passed a national exam in order to practice herbal medicine. Herbal medicine is under the scope of practice of an Acupuncturist, however not all Acupuncturists are Board-Certified herbalists. This depends on their own preferences and state requirements to be licensed.

A Superbill does not guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company, and all out of pocket costs are due at the time of service.

  • Do You Have Telehealth Appointments?

Our Telehealth appointments are only available for follow-up appointments discussing herbal and dietary/lifestyle consultations. During these follow-up appointments, we will discuss how your symptoms may have changed and make adjustments to your herbal formula. • How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The amount and frequency of your treatments will be determined by your symptoms and diagnostic patterns. More complex health issues may require more extensive treatment compared to more straight-forward health complaints. Acupuncture helps to reset the body functions, which requires consistency and the appropriate treatment frequency. Your provider will work with you to create the treatment plan that fits your needs and health concerns.

  • How Does Acupuncture Feel?

Because of the size and flexibility of acupuncture needles, most people do not feel much sensation. Common responses to receiving acupuncture include a small muscle spasm, a warming or tingling sensation, or a small pinch which disappears immediately. Acupuncture has such a relaxing effect on the body that most people feel a deep sense of relaxation and even fall asleep during treatment.
